I found it interesting that Guardian article pointed out the crowd that gathered for the unveiling and presidential speech were predominantly African – American. There is some controversy over the inscription. Maya Angelou gives her thoughts in this article. What do you think?

Hey the statue was actually 30 ft tall. And i will say being there was amazing! Just seeing all of our beautiful Black people there paying respect was wow!!! But i did not like that it didn’t say anything about racism… You would think it would have said at least that. So i’m not feeling that part of what was wrote on the sttatue…. Moreno
